Software Product Lead (Ruby on Rails, Microservices)

What We Need
Oivan is looking for a Software Product Lead (Ruby on Rails, Microservices) for our largest real-estate customer. 

You will be immersed in a dynamic and geographically distributed team, working on diverse projects and products. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, you will support our largest client, collaborating closely with our Delivery Manager and our Business Team members. Your responsibilities will encompass managing project teams, prioritizing deliverables, and fostering client relationships. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new leads, growing customer accounts, and handling presales activities. 

You will be based on-site at our customer’s premises in Riyadh, KSA. 

This role requires fluent Arabic as well as proficient English language skills.

In this role, you are expected to have some technical knowledge since you will be a liaison between the business team at Oivan and the technical team at the customer.

What You'll Do
We offer you the unique opportunity to work and improve your skills with a diverse and geographically distributed team of technology and business experts around the world.  You will get to work on various products / projects and execute the following responsibilities as a product owner: 
  • Currently own and manage Product backlogs, actively overseeing the development and launch of multiple services through comprehensive involvement in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Collaborate proactively in introducing and refining Product Owner roles, contributing to the scaling of Agile methodologies and optimizing overall delivery efficiency. 

  • Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring ongoing alignment of product roadmaps with overarching business objectives. 

  • Lead communication initiatives among diverse teams and stakeholders, fostering a cohesive environment for effective product alignment and execution. 

  • Facilitate insightful workshops with cross-functional teams, streamline the process of requirement gathering, and enhance collaborative efforts across various departments. 

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance product development processes and implementing best practices to ensure efficiency and quality. 

  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to inform product strategy and maintain a competitive edge. 

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of user-centric design principles throughout the product development lifecycle. 

What You Have
As a product owner, we prefer that you have:  
  • 5+ years of product ownership or project management experience in the software development industry, IT service management or something similar. We encourage you to apply if you have less “years” of experience, the number of years is to give an average benchmark. 
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to continuously acquire new competencies and find creative solutions in response to changing priorities and needs. 
  • We want you to be organized in leading a project and within a professional setting to deliver high-quality customer experience. 
  • Experience in creating technical reports and presentations for pre-sales cases and follow-up reporting. 
  • Strong command in Arabic and English in writing and speaking. 
  • Familiarity with Jira (Confluence) for activity tracking, task-setting, dashboards, burndown, and similar tools is preferred. 
  • PMP, PSPO or an equivalent Agile certification (PSM 1,2) certification would be considered an asset.
